Talk about a music video gone to the dogs! This amazing video, for the band OK Go's song White Knuckles, was shot in one continuous take and features shelter dogs. How talented are they? Each dog had their own trainer and it took more than six months of preparation.

a hairy situation

We love our adopted golden retriever, Chloe, to pieces. And we knew before she came to live with us that she would shed. So we were prepared for some increased vacuuming and cleaning ... but we were not prepared for the amount of hair. It rolls through our living room like tumbleweed. It gets into places that it shouldn't — the utensil drawer? How?! We are still scratching our heads as to how Chloe maintains such a thick, lustrous coat (*jealous*) with her perpetual hair loss.

Of course, it doesn't help that we let her on the couch.

And on the bed.

And, when our backs are turned, ahem, in the bed.

So I did a little happy dance when I read this post on Apartment Therapy, one of my go-to, around-the-house and decorating blogs. Who knew you could use vacuum attachments on a shop vac? Genius.

It has given me hope that we may get the upper hand on our hairy situation.

What can I say, I love Lucy.

She belongs to my mother-in-law and came to visit us a few weeks ago. Lucy was rescued from a puppy mill in the United States and made the long journey to Canada for adoption. She has some anxiety issues and is quite shy, but she is very loved and has come a long way.

Lucy is a big cuddle bug and a great example of why adoption is such a good idea. If you're looking for a pet, try contacting your local humane society - there are so many great dogs out there that need a home!

Meet Lucy – she's a bit of a mystery. Lucy is a rescue dog. Her age is around two and it's thought that she has some border collie in her. She is very sweet, but shy. Lucy has to warm up to you before she really trusts you. I think we were friends by the end of the day.
